developer: Road 404 publisher: Game Insight Official website
Empire Transport, released on PC, iOS, etc., is a social economic strategy game inspired by Travian Games' browser-based MMO Rail Nation. The title is another result of cooperation between Road 404 and Game Insight, a publisher experienced in the field of mobile games. After its success on other mobile platforms and Facebook, the game as also released on the Windows Store.
Mechanics
The action of Empire Transport takes place in a universe combining the Victorian era with elements of steampunk. Our goal is to expand the rail transport network, trying to bring back to life a declining family interest and create a real transport empire. As in many similar games, we have to complete various tasks. Their completion rewards with a certain amount of experience, thanks to which we are promoted to higher levels, unlocking new options in the game.
When we start the game, we have only two modest squads, which we can send on routes between the surrounding cities and sawmills and mines. In this way, we get the two most important raw materials in the game - wood and coal. Thanks to them, as the game progresses, we will be able to build cities, farms, bridges, railway tracks and stations, as well as many other structures useful in our business. Over time, we will expand our train fleet, purchase new land for expansion and build factories that will process the raw materials we supply, such as steel. A noteworthy element is the relatively large selection of wagons and locomotives, which differ not only in appearance but also in performance. At the next stage of the game, in addition to trains, we will also use boats and aircraft to transport our goods.
Technical aspects
Empire Transport features colorful graphics that are at the level typical of most modern browser games. The title is distributed in a free-to-play model with optional microtransactions, thanks to which we can purchase new, exclusive locomotives or speed up the delivery time of individual contracts. The social aspect is also important - by inviting friends to the game, we can get several interesting bonuses.
