Trainz Railroad Simulator 2019 is the next installment of the series of railway simulators existing since 2001. Australian studio N3V Games is responsible for the production of the game. The game allows you not only to create your own railway network and control traffic but also to steer your own locomotive.

Trainz Railroad Simulator 2019 is another part of a series of advanced simulators for railway enthusiasts produced by N3V Games from Australia. The game allows the player not only to create their own railway routes and act as a dispatcher controlling the rail traffic, but also to control each of the locomotives available in the game.

Mechanics and game modes

Trainz Railroad Simulator 2019 offers the player three basic gameplay modes. The first of them consists of building and editing the already available railway routes with the use of an extensive and easy to use editor. In addition to a set of ready-made elements, the player can also use additional content, available in the form of paid DLCs. Another mode is a simulator, which allows the player to play the role of an engine driver and independently ride selected routes. This mode offers two variants of control - simulation and simplified. The player can also switch between a mouse and keyboard control system and a slightly more complex virtual cockpit. The last mode of the game allows the player to become a dispatcher. The player is free to control the traffic on the route they created in order to reduce the time of travel as much as possible.

The collection of historic locomotives i equally important as the gameplay itself - these locomotives are available as paid DLCs and in the so-called Content Vault, where the number of vehicles available periodically depends on the subscription plan chosen by the player.

Technical aspects

Trainz Railroad Simulator 2019 uses the "E2" graphical engine created for Trainz: New Era. Developers decided to use advanced dynamic lighting systems and physics-based rendering to best recreate the atmosphere of a ride on iconic railways. They also decided to significantly improve the train driving system in order to make it as close to reality as possible. The track editor has also changed - it now uses Nvidia Turf technology, which allows for realistic representation of the ground. The title offers a database of additional Content Vault content, where you can find lots of new routes, locomotives or environmental elements. The game also gives access to a significant part of the elements present in the previous games of the series.
