Traffic Manager is an extensive economic strategy developed by the Hungarian development studio CyberPhobX. The player is responsible for managing transport in the virtual city, and his duties include taking care of the condition of roads, synchronization of traffic lights, planning of public transport routes and managing a team of employees.
Traffic Manager is a proposal of Hungarian CyberPhobX studio (known from Police Simulator series) addressed to players who would like to test themselves as a road manager in a virtual metropolis. Production combines elements of the economic strategy and simulation of the city's functioning.
The player's task is to ensure the efficient functioning of communication arteries. This requires, among other things, repairing damaged roads and sweeping streets, but also synchronising traffic lights and planning public transport routes and timetables. All this so that the inhabitants of the city were satisfied, which in turn translates into an adequate inflow of money from the town hall. Financial resources enable the purchase of appropriate equipment and the employment of qualified workers.
Traffic Manager gameplay is characterized by high complexity. The player has to monitor many parameters at the same time, including citizens' favourite travel routes, rush hour traffic, ongoing complications, etc. The player has to be able to monitor all the parameters at the same time, including the number of people's favourite travel routes, rush hour traffic, and so on. Decisions are made by selecting the appropriate options in the user interface, which is based on drop-down menus.
As in many economic strategies, the audiovisual setting plays a secondary role in the game. Two-dimensional graphics, however, abound in animated elements (moving cars, passers-by, etc.), which increases the attractiveness of the game. On the soundtrack there are characteristic sounds of the city.
