Track Lab

Track Lab is a music creation tool developed by the independent Little Chicken Game Company. The title uses both virtual reality goggles and motion controllers.

Mechanics

In Track Lab we find ourselves in a virtual space, which we observe from the perspective of the first person (FPP). The songwriting process is intuitive - we place bubbles on a luminous line rolling around circles corresponding to specific sounds; when a ray of light reaches a specific bubble, the sound behind it is played.

But that's not all, because the light beam can be divided and inverted using so-called "prisms", which allows you to create loops and increasingly complex songs. In addition, the authors provide us with various mixers allowing us to change the tone or even combine several songs. In this way we can compose songs from the borderland of techno and trance, as well as hip-hop or even rock songs.
