A hack'n'slash game, inspired mostly by the first installment of the Diablo series. In Tower of Kalemonvo we explore the titular tower. The game doesn't offer a class system, allowing for creating characters with unusual weapon, skill and spell combinations. It is also characterized by a high difficulty level with limited merchants and potions.

Tower of Kalemonvo is a hack'n'slash title. It was heavily inspired by the classics of the genre, especially by the first Diablo and by Throne of Darkness. In the game we strive to reach the top of the titular tower and it is the debut project of an independent developer using the pseudonym osur.

Gameplay

In Tower of Kalemonvo we watch the action in an isometric view. The basis of the gameplay is the exploration of randomly generated levels and the elimination of enemies. We must also gradually develop characters, earn experience and expand the range of abilities, as well as accumulate better equipment.

Classless system

Unlike in most other representatives of the genre, we do not start the game by choosing a character class. Instead, we can only choose its gender, as well as decide on the weapon that our protagonist will wield at the beginning of their adventure.

Equipment and spells

One could say that a sword and shield make our character a warrior, a bow turns them into a rogue, while a magic staff makes them a mage. Nevertheless, over time we gain access to various weapons, which we can equip, as long as our stats will allow it. The situation is similar with casting spells. All of this allows us to lead into battle a mage wielding a powerful hammer or a warrior capable of throwing fireballs.

This is not the end, as every piece of equipment has its unique features. Some of them are useful, but some can be problematic, which calls into question the validity of their use. This includes a cloak that deprives our body of its shape or a powerful mask that absorbs the potions we have gathered.

Difficulty level

The journey of the titular tower is complicated by the fact that there are no portals leading to the town or other places offering shelter. Potions are also a scarce commodity here, and we don't come across traders too often.
