Touché: The Adventures of the Fifth Musketeer is a classic point-and-click adventure in the atmosphere of Alexander Dumas' novels and films with a coat and swords. Its creation is the responsibility of the little-known Clipper Software studio, which has so far mainly dealt with game ports for Amiga and Atari ST computers.

The action of the game takes us to 16th-century France, where one of the greatest honors was the opportunity to join the ranks of the elite musketeers' guard. The game's hero, Geoffroi Le Brun, arrives in Rouen hoping to gain fame, but is instead entangled in the murder of Prince William de Peuple. Our protophile swears to find the murderers and explain the motives behind their actions. From the dying prince he learns that the attackers paid with Spanish gold, which narrows the circle of searches. With the help of a faithful and somewhat clumsy servant, Le Brun begins his investigation, during which he will visit Paris, Amiens and St. Petersburg, among others. Quentin and see the famous Notre Dame Cathedral and the Louvre Museum. During his journey, our protagonist will experience a lot of incredible adventures, and the way to the finale of the story will pave the way for his perceptiveness, penetrating mind and blade of the swords.

In terms of mechanics and graphic design, Touché draws on some of the genre's classics, such as the Indiana Jones series and Monkey Island. So we are dealing with a convenient and easy to use point-and-click interface, which after clicking on the item will show us a list of possible actions. The game consists in exploring particular locations, conducting dialogues and solving logical puzzles with not very high level of difficulty. In France, we move around with the help of a map, on which, as the plot progresses, there are other places worth visiting. A characteristic feature of the game is the fact that the whole story was treated with a great deal of humour and a slight pinch of salt.

From the graphic point of view, Touché refers to the roots of the genre, resembling quite clearly the Monkey Island series. The game frame is bright, cheerful and colorful, and hand-drawn graphics in SVGA resolution have been made with great attention to detail. The fun is accompanied by pleasant music, which, although not from the 16th century France, perfectly matches the atmosphere of the game.
