Touch Detective 2 1/2 is the official continuation of the classic adventure game, which was released in 2006. As with the first release of the series, the only target platform is the Nintendo DS console. It is also worth mentioning that this game was originally created with the Japanese market in mind (under the title Osawari Tantei: Ozawa Rina), appearing in English version with a considerable delay. It is no different in this case, because the Japanese premiere of Touch Detective 2 1/2 took place in May 2007. The game's production is again the responsibility of the Japanese development studio BeeWorks.
In the described second part of the series we play the role of Mackenzie, a young and not yet very experienced detective lady. In the initial phase of the game, we begin an investigation aimed at unraveling the mystery of suspicious thefts. As the game develops, we can of course count on surprising twists and turns and more puzzles to be solved. The main character does not carry out her actions on her own. He can count on the help of those characters who will appear in the first part of the Touch Detective game. These include Cromwell, Penelope and Funghi.
Unlike the first part, in which we had four chapters of history to overcome, this time five were prepared. As you can easily guess, the game is longer than its predecessor. This means, among other things, a greater number of visitable locations. The main character also meets more independent characters, from whom the necessary information should of course be obtained. As in the first part, all events are given in a rather humorous way. This applies in particular to the funny comments of the main character on the events taking place in her environment.
Touch Detective 2 1/2 also features new hidden quests. The player can also take care of acquiring additional items in order to unlock various bonuses - music or production graphics. The control is very similar to the first part of Touch Detective. One of the screens shows the main character, and the other shows the action. The player selects by himself those objects with which the main character is to interact. Target-shading technology has also been used again.
