Totems

Totems is a combination of an action adventure game and a three-dimensional platformer, which greatly emphasizes use of objects in the immediate vicinity. The game is in many ways unusual. The general objectives of the game, as well as the presented gameplay mechanics refer in a very clear way to the so-called le parkour, which is becoming more and more popular discipline of efficient crossing of urban landscapes.

Our character can move around the game world prepared by the devs, and the game has a completely non-linear character. As has already been said, special emphasis has been placed on interacting with elements of the environment. All the objects visible on the screen can be used to perform spectacular tricks. Furthermore, the appearance of the movements is calculated in real time, so that each approach to a given obstacle and overcoming it looks slightly different. The whole system is driven by a mechanic called SESS (Semantic Environment Sensing System), designed by the developers.

The devs have also provided an option to perform the transformation of the environment. This can be done according to the style and skills of our character. In addition to overcoming obstacles, we also deal with enemies, which are capable of performing similar moves and as a result the duels are full of surprising moments. The visuals of Totems presents themselves very well. The surroundings are particularly beautiful.
