In Total Eclipse the player plays the role of an archaeologist who arrives at the Egyptian pyramid to solve a curse long time ago cast by a priest Hahmid. If messages forgotten for centuries do not lie, on October 26, 1930, exactly at ten o'clock in the morning, there will be a full eclipse of the sun, which, combined with the destruction of the temple of the god Ra, will cause the total extermination of civilization. The player has two hours to turn the curse - if he fails to do so, a real hell will be unleashed on Earth.
The main character is equipped with a gun as standard, which will be useful for the extermination of the mummies in the pyramid. In addition, it has a manner with water and a compass. The liquid will prevent dehydration (after all, we are in the middle of the desert and if we don't want to drink), but the compass won't let us get lost in the huge labyrinth of corridors, hidden chambers and traps that are waiting for a brave archaeologist in the pyramid. From time to time, he will also have to rest in order to calm down the course of his heart. It is necessary if we want to survive the expedition, but on the other hand laziness consumes invaluable time.
The player moves in a fully three-dimensional environment, observing the environment from the perspective of the first person. The Freespace engine was developed by Incentive Software and allows you to rotate at any angle, squat and even look up and down. The visual setting is based on vector graphics. All objects consist of simple solids, not filled with textures. The program makes a very pleasant impression and can be recommended to all fans of action/adventure games.
