A racing game developed by the independent studio T-Bull. The action takes place on the streets of a fictional city – the metropolis, divided into five districts, is an area of operation for various gangs, keen on eliminating each other. The player receives a task to defeat the bosses of the racing underworld, and acquire the title of the king for themselves. The gameplay focuses on the titular drag racing, known as 1/4 mile races.
Top Speed: Drag & Fast Racing is a racing game released on Windows 8.1/10 tablets and PC. We compete with the bosses of the criminal underground in so-called drag races. The game was developed by T-Bull studio, which has already had a number of budget projects such as Zombie Call: Shooter of Duty, Traffic: Illegal Road Racing and High Speed Race: Racing Need. The game is available in a typical free-to-play model with microtransactions where, like Need for Speed: No Limits, the main limitation is the depletion of fuel reserves.
Plot
The action takes place on the streets of a fictional city, divided into five districts controlled by competing gangs. The goal of the game is to defeat twenty consecutive bosses of the criminal underground and become the king of illegal races.
Mechanics
Since the drag races are the core of the game, the gameplay is shown here in a slightly different way than in classic racing games. The action is observed from the side, and the role of the player is not direct driving the vehicle, but accelerating to the highest possible speed. Starting from the start, we must therefore shift gears as smoothly as possible when the speedometer pointer is on the green field. If we do it too quickly or too slowly, our vehicle will lose valuable seconds and our chances of winning will drastically decrease.
Players have access to a large number of routes, located in subsequent districts of the city, differing in appearance (there are also races on board of an aircraft carrier). The number of available vehicles is also impressive, with 69 cars available at the launch. One of Top Speed: Drag & Fast Racing's attractions is the prototype model of Warszawa, which resurrects one of the greatest legends of the Polish automotive industry. The developers also took care of a wide range of tuning possibilities, both mechanically and visually, and each of the installed improvements is not without impact on the performance of our machine. The best of the best drivers also get access to exclusive parts that can only be obtained on the black market.
Game modes
The original version of Top Speed: Drag & Fast Racing only has a single player mode. However, the developers have taken care of a wide range of gameplay modes, including classic street races, races of the best tuned cars and races with the bosses themselves. The fun is complemented by a special Most Wanted mode, in which we drive a police car from five different countries and race against criminals.
Technical aspects
Top Speed: Drag & Fast Racing is based on the popular Unity 3D engine, which strikes the right balance between a high level of graphics and game optimisation, allowing the game to run smoothly even on slightly weaker devices.
