TOHU

TOHU is a classic point and click adventure game where we accompany a little girl and her mechanical alter ego on a mission to save a peculiar planet, inhabited by her and many other nice creatures. The game was created by independent Fireart Games studio, which you can associate with Spirit Roots platformer.

Plot

TOHU action is set on a small, ethereal planet, where days flow in an atmosphere of peace and idyll. Until one day someone damages the Sacred Engine, the key component of the planet's existence, and the lives of all beings inhabiting this friendly planet are threatened. The main character of the game decides to take matters into her own hands and sets off on a journey in search of help to repair the engine and restore everything to normal, exploring neighboring fish planets.

Mechanics

TOHU is a classic representative of point and click games, in which we interact with the environment and objects located in the locations, solve puzzle puzzles as well as more arcade ones. However, in this aspect it is closer to the adventure games of Amanita Design studio, responsible for Machinarium or Chuchel, because the locations we visit are full of details and various objects, and we more often solve puzzles by interacting with them than we collect and combine objects in our equipment. Especially since in the game we play the role of a little girl, hiding a secret alter ego, who can turn into a big and strong robot at any time. Thanks to this, the difficulties and riddles encountered, requiring the use of force, such as armwrestling or carrying a huge pipe, we solve by taking mechanical form.

There are also collectibles in TOHU, here in the form of cards, which we get when we click on a creature hiding in the sea of details.

Technical aspects

The two-dimensional graphic design at TOHU resembles a children's book, full of the finest details, where a large part of them is animated, even though it is the background, or one of the many elements of the environment. This and the unique crack give the impression that the world we visit is "alive".

The soundtrack for the game was composed by Christopher Larkin, who is responsible for music in metroidvania - Hollow Knight.
