An extensive add-on to a hack-and-slash game called Titan Quest Anniversary Edition. This expansion introduces a new story act, more types of enemies, new pieces of gear, and improves the game's visuals.
Titan Quest: Ragnarok is a large expansion to the 2016's hack-and-slash called Titan Quest Anniversary Edition for PC. This is not a standalone DLC, as it requires you to own the base game. This expansion was developed by Pieces Interactive, also known for creating i.a. Magicka 2.
Mechanics
The Ragnarok expansion introduces a number of new elements; nonetheless, it does not alter the gameplay mechanics in any significant way. Players get to explore uncharted regions of Northern Europe, where they have to complete another adventure constituting the fifth act of the story campaign. During the game, one gets to explore several large locations, including the lands of Celts, Norsemen, and Asgard gods. Gameplay revolves around combat. Titan Quest: Ragnarok introduces several new opponents and bosses, e.g. dangerous wolves and ice wraiths. During a fight, players can utilize unique pieces of gear, such as Celtic shields, Germanic swords, as well as new artifacts and talismans.
Moreover, the developers have increased the level cap up to 85 and introduced the tenth mastery, which together with the ones from the base game give players 45 possible combinations. Interestingly enough, the add-on described herein modifies the locations featured in the base game adding new items and secrets.
Technical aspects
Titan Quest: Ragnarok improves the game's visuals. The developers took care to implement new shaders and effects. Moreover, the game's physics and interface have been improved. There are also more options allowing players to customize the controls and the improved modification tool.

This surprise expansion for Titan Quest takes you on a journey to the frigid north after exhausting all the sun-soaked options before getting you hooked on loot all over again. The slower pacing and combat might not be for everyone but for those that love the original or action-RPGs from that era there is a lot to like.
Digital Chumps: 7.5 / 10 by Steven McGehee
Ragnarok is a beast of an expansion pack, and it gets more right than wrong. It's not quite as polished or as impressive as the original and its expansion from so many years ago, but it's still a valiant effort and a solid expansion to a great game.
Wccftech: 7 / 10 by Francesco De Meo
Titan Quest Ragnarök offers more of what makes the main game so engaging - a new Mastery opening up new customization possibilities, new gear, new enemies, new areas to explore and new challenges. With the new content being meant for high level characters, and the lack of any real new gameplay mechanics, it's clear how the expansion is geared toward the most die-hard fans of Titan Quest. Those who aren't particularly fond of action role-playing games from over 10 years ago will definitely not change their opinion with Titan Quest Ragnarök, making it an essential purchase only for those who love the game created by Iron Lore.
