Thick as Thieves is a stealth action game with clearly outlined immersive sim elements. The game was developed by OtherSide Entertainment studio and was supervised by such personalities as Warren Spector (project director of Deus Ex and Thief: Deadly Shadows), Paul Neurath (executive producer of Thief: The Dark Project and Thief 2: The Metal Age) and Greg Lopiccolo (designer of Thief: Deadly Shadows).

Story

The action of Thick as Thieves takes place in an alternative version of the first decade of the 20th century. The game transports us to a metropolis illuminated by gas lamps and neon lights, where magic is an element of everyday life. During the game we play as thieves who, under the cover of night, carry out heists. They are also competing with each other and discovering the secrets of the city.

Gameplay

In Thick as Thieves we view the events from a first-person perspective (FPP). The game puts at our disposal characters such as The Hood, The Spider and The Chameleon, varied in terms of skills and equipment used.

The core of the gameplay are missions that throw us into various corners of the city and involve sneaking into designated locations and stealing various valuables. In a way, we also discover the secrets of the metropolis. The knowledge gained in this way can be used to plan our next moves.

Stealth

We must constantly be on guard in the game, as the city is teeming with guards. In addition, our escape with the loot is made difficult by other, competing thieves. We can act slowly and quietly, carefully taking the next steps, or quite the opposite - emphasizing loud and fast actions. We have to break into rooms, tamper with alarms, distract guards or even silence witnesses.

Characters and their abilities

All this would not be possible without the skills of our characters, who can do things like climbing onto environmental elements or running on roofs. Various tools of individual thieves are a key help. They include gadgets like smoke grenades (facilitating the loss of pursuit) and a rope with a hook (allowing quick access to high places).
