The Ultimate Doom

The Ultimate Doom is, as the name suggests, the final version of the original Doom - one of the most iconic and groundbreaking FPS games in video game entertainment history. The original production is, of course, the work of the legendary id Software studio, created in the early 1990s by John Carmack, among others. The Ultimate Doom is available on PC and iOS.

Plot

Like most classic FPS shooters, the story of the game presents a simple and not very sophisticated story. Players play the role of an unnamed member of the space marines unit, who is sent to a secret military and research unit on Mars for punishment. The UAC corporation, which controls the facility, experiments with gates that lead to other dimensions. As a result of unforeseen events, however, monstrous creatures from hell got through the gate - our task is to deal with them.

Mechanics

In The Ultimate Doom, in addition to adding a new set of levels, the original episodes of the game have been slightly modified. In some maps, new elements have appeared, such as buttons opening windows in the UAC database on Phobos in the first stage of the game. However, the gallery of encountered opponents was not changed, as well as the means of extermination available in the game - all these elements remained in their original version from 1993.

Game modes

The Ultimate Doom consists of three episodes from the basic game: Knee-Deep in the Dead, The Shores of Hell and Inferno. However, the package also contains one completely new, 9-level episode called Thy Flesh Consumed. It was created using the best and highest rated levels, prepared by the community of players themselves, mainly by amateur designers, using tools provided by id Software. Most of them, however, are real masterpieces, astonishing with original architectural solutions, great attention to detail, and a relatively high level of difficulty.
