Simulation 16 August 2017
The Trail: Frontier Challenge is a survival game developed by Peter Molyneux's studio 22 Cans, creators of Godus and Curiosty. We play as a traveler who, after a long journey, reaches the New World and begins to explore it. Our job is to venture deeper into the land. As we play, we travel from town to town, camping on the way. We also collect and craft various items during our adventures. The game is slow-paced and focuses on being more relaxing than challenging. We will also find some multiplayer elements here - we can create communities with other players and work on our towns with them. The Trail: Frontier Challenge has colorful minimalist visuals.
The Trail: A Frontier Journey
Puzzle 03 November 2016
A simplistic survival game developed by 22 Cans Studios. The game is a free-to-play title with optional microtransactions. In The Trail: A Frontier Journey, the player assumes the role of a wanderer who finally makes it to shores of the New World after a long sea journey and begins exploration. The player travels a linear trail, getting deeper and deeper into the mainland. On their way however, the protagonist must manage both the powers and resources appropriately, as well as stop in camps to have some rest. During the journey, the player gathers different items, some of which can be sold, other used to craft various objects. What's more, the game features social aspects allowing to establish one's own town which can be afterwards inhabited by other players who will collectively work on making it a better place. All of this is complemented by minimalistic, though attractive visuals in full 3D.
