The Talos Principle: Reawakened

The Talos Principle: Reawakened is a remastered and enriched version of the well-received 2018 puzzle game. The remaster was developed by the authors of the original, the Croteam studio from Croatia, whose portfolio also includes the Serious Sam series.

Story

The Talos Principle: Reawakened includes all the content from the base game and The Road to Gehenna expansion. During the game, we take on the role of an android guided by a voice from the heavens called Elohim, who travels through an alien world and solves increasingly complex puzzles. We do this in order to attain the ascension prepared by the supposedly divine guide.

Authors of the game have prepared a new chapter for the remaster. It serves as an introduction to the whole story. In the Beginning chapter allows us to learn the story of Alexandra Drennan as she conducts her first important test that will give her answers to questions about the essence of humanity.

Gameplay

In The Talos Principle: Reawakened we view the action from a first-person perspective (FPP) or a third-person perspective (TPP). During the game, we explore locations and solve logical and environmental puzzles of varying degrees of complexity. They involve interactions such as placing objects in specific locations, directing laser beams through mirror systems, or even controlling drones. As we progress, we acquire tools that unlock new ways of interacting with the environment.

We discover further elements of the plot by listening to what Elohim has to say, reading various notes, and familiarizing ourselves with the contents of the terminals we pass along the way, or by discussing with Milton - an artificial intelligence that tests our views.

A puzzle editor was prepared for the purpose of The Talos Principle: Reawakened. It allows players to design their own locations and puzzles.

Game engine

The Talos Principle: Reawakened is powered by Unreal Engine 5. In terms of visuals, the remaster stands out against the original due to improved lighting and more detailed textures.
