The Silent Swan Description
The Silent Swan is a walking sim - an exploration-focused adventure game. It was developed by the indie team of Studio Circenses and was published by Gammera Nest.
Plot
The Silent Swan takes us on a journey to a fantastic universe bringing to mind Victorian England. The main character of the game is Mirov Kavrazyma, whose house suffered as a result of a disaster known as the Fall. Following in the footsteps of his wife, who is the only witness of these events, the protagonist must travel through two cities located in The Land Beyond the Walls.
Game mechanics
In The Silent Swan we observe the action from a first person perspective (FPP). The adventure leads Mirov through two cities - Urzhum and Sernur. Locations have an open structure, which allows us to freely wander each of them. Exploring them, the protagonist collects various items, acquires information about the history of people who came to these lands before him, and also receives valuable clues bringing him closer to finding his lost beloved.
Technical aspects
Although from a purely technical point of view the graphics in The Silent Swan is rather average, the original design of the locations is very pleasing. Cities consist of soaring buildings connected by narrow bridges, which makes them look like giant, 3D labyrinths.
