The Search Description
The Search is a point-and-click adventure game inspired by the cult series Myst. The game was developed by independent developer Jason Godbey.
Plot
In The Search, we play the role of a woman who gets into an alternative reality. In this unusual world, creativity can solve all problems and art comes alive. The heroine needs to find out more about the laws that rule this place, to find out the reasons why she came here, and also to find out who is the author of the letters that lead her through this strange land.
Mechanics
In The Search the action is shown from the first person perspective (FPP). During the game we cannot move freely around the locations as they are presented in the form of static boards. Instead, we point with the cursor to objects we want to see up close, places we want to move to, or things we want to take with us. The driving force behind the game are puzzles that require us to interact with elements of the environment, as well as to search for objects and use them in a specific way.
Technical aspects
The graphic design of The Search is pleasing to the eye; the locations and objects are designed with attention to small details. The role of the main character is played by Cissy Jones known from Firewatch and Life is Strange games.
