The Scouring

The Scouring is a production on the borderline of action RPGs and RTS-?w games. The production, which takes us to a fantastic world that is an arena of conflict between humans and orcs, was developed by the independent studio Orc Group and is its debut project.

Gameplay

In The Scouring, we view events in an isometric view. The game allows us to take sides in a conflict and lead it to victory over the other. Whether we stand at the head of humans or orcs, our forces must face another common enemy - the undead, who attack under the cover of night.

Like Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, the described item allows us to take direct control of the protagonist, in whose skin, like in racial action RPGs, we traverse locations (including dungeons), eliminate hosts of enemies in dynamic battles, as well as gather experience and increasingly powerful equipment. On the battlefield we make use of both white weapons and magic.

In addition, as befits an RTS, during the course of the game we collect resources, build bases and field armies, which we then send into battle against enemy forces. The game offers the possibility of taking over from us the issues of base management and defense, which is especially useful when our attention is absorbed by events taking place in another part of the map.

Coop and other game modes

The Scouring can be played solo or in multiplayer mode over the Internet. In addition to the title module, which serves as a story campaign, the possibility of playing skirmishes by up to 8 persons has been implemented here. We can compete with other players or form alliances and cooperate.

Steam workshop

The Scouring has been integrated with the Steam workshop. Players can create maps, modes and scripts for the AI on their own and share them with the community.
