A hybrid of an RTS and an action RPG, inspired by the Warcraft series. The Scouring features a conflict between humans, orcs and their common enemy - the undead. We can build bases, create armies and also control a hero. He can explore the map, descend into dungeons and participate in dynamic battles.

The Scouring is a production on the border of action RPG and RTS games. It takes us to a fantasy world that is the arena of conflict between humans and orcs. The game was developed by the independent studio Orc Group and is their debut project.

Gameplay

In The Scouring we watch events in an isometric view. The game allows us to choose one side of the conflict and lead it to victory over the other. Regardless of whether we lead people or orcs, our forces must face another, common enemy - the undead, who attack under the cover of night.

Similar to games like Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, we can take direct control over the hero. Just like in popular action RPGs, we use the hero to explore locations (led by dungeons), eliminate hordes of enemies, engage in dynamic skirmishes, and also accumulate experience and increasingly powerful equipment. On the battlefield, we make use of both melee weapons and magic.

As befits an RTS, we gather resources, build bases and raise armies, which we then send to fight against enemy forces. The game can control for us issues related to managing the base and its defense, which is especially useful when our attention is absorbed by events taking place in another part of the map.

Coop and other game modes

In The Scouring we can play alone or in multiplayer mode over the Internet. In addition to the titular mode serving as a story campaign, there is also the possibility of playing skirmishes for up to 8 people. We can compete with other players or form alliances and cooperate.

Steam Workshop

The Scouringhas been integrated with the Steam Workshop. Players can independently create maps, modes and scripts for artificial intelligence and share them with the community.
