Another edition of a popular strategy game developed by Stardock. As usual, the game was released right before the upcoming presidential elections in the USA. The game is all about taking part in the political race to the White House. The player takes control of a candidate (one of fifteen available), choosing from among such figures as Donald Trump, Hilary Clinton, or Bernie Sanders. The player can create an original candidate as well.

The Political Machine 2016 for PC is another installment in a series of political strategy games. Each installment is published before upcoming presidential elections in the USA. The game was developed by Stardock Entertainment, famous for Galactic Civilizations - strategy series.

Story

Again, the game puts the player in the shoes of a candidate who begins their race to the White House. The player can choose from fifteen existing candidates such as Hilary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, or Donald Trump. The player can create their own new candidate as well, and convince the public that they are the best choice. This can be achieved by voicing our candidate's opinions on a wide set of matters that the American society requires answers for. In so doing, the player can gain their trust and approval.

Gameplay

The gameplay in The Political Machine 2016 for PC brings no differences to the mechanics present in the previous installments. Thus the player's task is to carry out an electoral campaign in order to convince the largest possible number of voters to put their trust in the candidate the player represents. To achieve that, the player travels across the country participating in subsequent meetings with the voters, raises funds, cares about reputation and takes part in interviews and debates, which give an opportunity to confront the opponents, and possibly throw mud and rotten tomatoes at them.

A new edition of the game recreates the current US political landscape as usual. Thus, during the campaign, the player has to state their opinion on the most important matters related to the country, such as the nuclear threat posed by Iran, the problem of human trafficking, or the issue of Keystone XL pipeline. What is important, the real-life electoral campaign takes its turns as always, different events concerning the campaign and the candidates take place. The game is getting updated in order to keep up with the real-life happenings.

In general, The Political Machine 2016 for PC is not much different than the previous installment released before the 2012's elections. The entire subject of the game was approached with some distance again - the characters are caricatures, deliberately exposing the distinctive features of the candidates. The dominant colors here are the red, white and blue, relating to the colors of the USA flag.
