In Conquest of the Longbow we play the role of Robin Hood, a banity inhabiting the Sherwood forest. The game focuses on Richard the Lion's Heart, which was captured by King Leopold. It is only up to our hero to raise certain funds needed to pay the ransom and thus restore the throne of the rightful ruler. However, it is not so simple, the opponents in the form of Prince John, Sheriff Notthingham and the Prior located near the abbey, want above all to leave Ryszard to the pasture of the French and get rid of our hero as soon as possible.
The program uses the modernised SCI system, so Robin Hood is controlled with a few icons. Their assortment has been extended by an arch to shoot enemies, a map to facilitate movement in the forest and a horn to summon companions in case of danger. The game is divided into consecutive days, on which we have to perform certain actions. The scenario is linear, but depending on how many points we manage to score, the end of the game may vary slightly. The program contains many arcade elements. If they seem to be too difficult, you can minimize their number or completely switch them off. The plot is interesting and addictive, after just a dozen or so minutes of the game you can see that the authors tried very hard to do something more than a meagre adventure. Robin Hood, however, has a lot of things on his head, collecting money for a ransom is one thing, but you still have to help the villagers pressed by the evil sheriff.
Conquest of the Longbow, against the background of various "quests" of Sierra, looks very good. The game is not especially popular, and it's a pity - it has a pile of fresh ideas, moreover, it draws on a very catchy topic - for fans of banity from Sherwood, an absolutely must-have item.
