The Legend of Ares is a representative of the MMORPG genre, which made its debut on the Korean market in 2002 over the name Ares Online, and a year later reached the peak of its popularity there. The atmosphere of The Legend of Ares can be described as medieval fantasy, and the gameplay itself is focused on fighting with both monsters occurring in the game world, as well as PvP.

The atmosphere of The Legend of Ares can be described as medieval fantasy, and the gameplay itself is focused on fighting with both monsters occurring in the game world, as well as PvP.

The title of the game refers to the mythical god of war, Aresa, who, while burning with the desire to expand his influence in the world of mortals, wanted to conquer and take over the Arab continent. To this end, he allied with one of the two factions in the game world, Holy Empire, which attacked its neighbors, the Religious Alliance. Kulam, one of the Arab gods, decided to oppose the Ares, using the Religious Alliance. During the struggle, Kulama unexpectedly supported Athena, the eternal adversary of Ares, presenting him with a legend revealing the weakness of Ares. The Legend of Ares - Holy Empire wants to conquer its enemies, while the Religious Alliance fights to defeat Aresa and save its homeland.

Players who start their adventure with The Legend of Ares choose one of the parties they will represent during the conflict. There are 4 character classes available in each nation: Knights and Spearmen, a specialist in melee fighting, and Archers and Sorcerers, a blatant enemy from a distance. In addition to this there is a selection of initial skills and abilities (unique for each class) of the characters we lead, which can be improved with the progress of the game and gaining experience, as well as gaining new ones. Our status is described by 5 basic features, Strength, Agility, Concentration, Dexterity and Wisdom. We can increase them even more, thanks to the elements of equipment, with which our character is equipped. The complexity of tasks also depends on the level of advancement of our hero. Starting the game, we get access to quite simple missions, but with the development of our character and gaining new, higher levels of experience, there are opportunities to solve more and more complex and difficult to complete tasks. A large role in the development of characters play a variety of objects, which we can freely adapt to their needs (even in a magical way).

As already mentioned, in The Legend of Ares a lot of emphasis was put on the fight, and this one will certainly not run out during the game. We can exterminate monsters, but the real challenge is battles between guilds, nations, and wars waged in order to conquer enemy territory. Game developers also offer the Honor System, in which for winning battles (with players from the opposite nation) we gain special points, which translates into obtaining a higher and higher ranking, which in turn results in higher bonuses for attack and defense. Of course, if we lose a duel, honor points are taken away from us and our rank falls. An unquestionable advantage of The Legend of Ares is the fact that it was made available for free. Of course, if we have excess cash, we can always purchase special items to improve our character.
