An isometric action survival game with roguelike elements. The Last Stand: Aftermath has us fighting in a world overrun by zombies. We play as one of the infected people, trying to lead a group of survivors and doing everything we can to slow down the disease.

Gameplay

The Last Stand: Aftermath is a survival action game enriched with roguelike mechanics. The game was developed by Con Artist Games – an independent development studio from Australia. Their portfolio includes other, smaller games under this banner, as well as the less successful Warfare Online, which was active for less than five months and focused on online gameplay.

Plot

The Last Stand: Aftermath takes us to a post-apocalyptic world taken over by a virus that turns people into the living dead. During the game we take on the role of an infected character who must do everything in their power to survive as long as possible, helping other survivors in their fight for survival.

Gameplay

In The Last Stand: Aftermath we view the action from an isometric view. We travel through atmospheric, procedurally generated locations in search of resources. We can obtain valuable materials that we use for crafting, as well as medicine which can prolong our life.

We must constantly face threats during the game. The danger comes from the enemies we face (led by hordes of the living dead), as well as the disease that consumes our character's body. Although the virus gradually turns us into the living dead, at subsequent stages of infection we gain access to various mutations that provide us with powerful, supernatural powers and abilities. Apart from the unique skills, we make use of a wide range of melee weapons and firearms – from swords, through rifles, to flamethrowers.

We should not forget that our character's days are numbered and sooner or later he will join the zombie hordes. In such a case, we have no choice but to take on the role of another survivor and continue the fight for survival, relying on previous progress and collected resources.
