The Last Plague: Blight is the debut project of an independent filmmaker Sergei Bezborodko from Canada. The game belongs to the survival genre, standing out from other productions of this type thanks to more complex crafting, isometric view, and the ability to tame animals.

Plot

An unknown disease, simply called the Plague, is ravaging the planet. The exhausted and starved protagonist (male or female) finds himself/herself alone in the wilderness. The appearance of an enigmatic figure, however, raises hope. To see the elimination of the plague in The Last Plague: Blight, we will have to fight for survival in difficult conditions.

Gameplay

The gameplay of The Last Plague: Blight does not differ much from other survival type games. As we explore the procedurally generated open world, we gather resources and craft items necessary for survival. In order to satisfy hunger, we engage in agriculture, fish, and prepare meals, while to quench thirst we drink boiled water.

The Last Plague: Blight has an extensive crafting system. We cannot turn stone and wood into a weapon immediately - they must be disinfected and processed. Processing vegetables and fruits into more complex food items requires time for fermentation, and a cart will come in handy for transporting heavy raw materials.

We take care of our wounds and energy by resting in a self-built shelter. We must also avoid toxic clouds of the pathogen and conduct research for a potential cure. The advancing Plague moves every day, and picking up an infected object can end up spreading the contamination in the backpack.

In the world of Plague, we are not alone. We come across wild animals that we can hunt or be hunted by them. We also have the option to tame the animals. The game features independent characters, offering cooperation and trade.
