The King of Fighters XIV

King of Fighters XIV for PC and PS4 is the fourteenth installment of the legendary series of Japanese fighting games which was started in 1994 on Neo Geo console and in arcade cabinets. The franchise was created by SNK, currently known as SNK Playmore. Since the very beginning the saga was known for its high quality two-dimensional graphics consisting of very detailed arenas’ illustrations and fluent movement animations of characters. The only exceptions were King of Fighters: Maximum Impact and King of Fighters: Maximum Impact 2 which were released on PlayStation 2 and Xbox. King of Fighters XIV returns to that idea and introduces a completely new combat system which is similar to other fighting game series like Tekken and Dead or Alive. The game is the first title in the series released on PlayStation 4.

Mechanics

King of Fighters XIV for PC and PS4 introduces a combat system that is different than in its predecessors. Now players are fighting on a three-dimensional arena and they can use it for their advantage, for example by avoiding opponent’s attacks in various ways. The series was always well known for a large line-up of available characters. Many of them returned in the fourteenth installment and the developers adapted their combat styles to the new gameplay. As usually, players can perform regular attacks and various combo attacks that are different for each warrior.

Game modes

In addition to singleplayer modes among which there are arcade and training, King of Fighters XIV for PC and PS4 offers advanced multiplayer options which are currently the base of every fighting game. The players can participate in single battles and ranking matches in which they will face opponents with similar skill.
