Continuation of a casual adventure game in which we travel through a vast, mysterious island and perform hundreds of tasks. The action of the title takes place before the events of the first part. We play the role of Yati, a young orphan plagued by mysterious dreams and visions.
The Island: Castaway 2 is an action adventure game, a continuation of the 2010 title warmly received by critics and players. The studio Awem from Belarus is responsible for it, which is famous for creating simple, but extremely playable casual productions on a PC, such as Jewel Masters or Star Defender series.
In terms of The Island: Castaway 2 is no different from its predecessor. We are still dealing with a production that combines RPG elements with features typical for adventure and action games. In the second part of the series we travel through the same mysterious island. This time, however, the story takes place hundreds of years before the events in The Island: Castaway. We play the orphan Yati, a young representative of a tribe inhabiting an unknown land. His parents disappeared, so he was taken in by the whole village. The boy has to solve puzzles connected with strange dreams and visions haunting him.
While exploring diverse locations - from the indigenous village to the temple bathed by lava - we get to know the characters who live there. There are 16 of them in total and each has its own plot background. We try to help everyone by fulfilling more than 300 tasks. As in the first part of the Awem study cycle, the missions commissioned to us are to collect a sufficient number of specific subjects. Sometimes it requires getting acquainted with different recipes and collecting rare ingredients. The game even allows us to grow fruit and vegetables. In total we will meet 12 kinds of vegetables, 9 varieties of mushrooms and roots and 3 species of animals.
The Island: Castaway 2 offers gameplay for one player only. Graphically, the title looks very good. Colourful, cartoon graphics make the game take on the features of timeless production. On the other hand, the music, referring to African and Caribbean rhythms, perfectly emphasizes the climate and atmosphere of the mysterious tropical island.
