Meditative bird simulator. Feather is all about exploring a mysterious island full of beautiful views and ambient sounds. It is a game for relaxation, so there are no dangers or skill challenges.
In The Feather players assume the role of a bird discovering the skies of a vast island, where the atmosphere and soundtrack deepen the impression of immersion into the in-game world. The game was created by Samurai Punk studio known for creating such productions as Screen Cheat, and The American Dream.
Mechanics
The Feather is an artistic game focused on exploring the island in the form of a bird and admiring its breathtaking views. Players can see forests, meadows, rivers, and fields, but also high mountains and beaches. Each of them is connected with experiencing a different atmosphere, especially that it can be influenced not only by atmospheric ambient songs but also by the day and night cycle.
The Feather itself is calm and more of an experience. There are no elements of fear, struggle or unpleasant surprises. It's all about the bird's flight, which is the most fun to control. It is well thought out, perfectly responsive and gives the impression of real control of a living bird. And although there are trees or other obstacles to avoid, the collision with them is not connected with the death of one's little hero. Instead, players will only hear the unpleasant sound of a collision.
There are special rings on the island, which if players decide to fly through, they offer them a change of the song played in the background. There are nine of those available in the game.
Technical aspects
The Feather adventure can be experienced in single player mode, but also with up to three friends. However, this does not involve a change in the game itself.

FingerGuns: 6 / 10 by Toby Andersen
Probably the quickest and most pleasant platinum trophy on the Playstation 4, Feather gives you the chance to soar like a bird. It’s a shame that it is held back by an empty world, a lack of interesting things to do beyond flight, and control glitches.
Video Chums: 2 / 5 by A.J. Maciejewski
Feather is the gaming equivalent of an ASMR video. Some folks will dig it while others will wonder why it even exists.
GamePitt: 7.5 / 10 by Rob Pitt
If you’re looking for a place to wind down and relax, Feather is for you. Although the game itself is quite short, you can easily lose hours within the experience as you fly around and explore both locations either alone or with random people from all other platforms. The beautiful low-poly aesthetics are vibrant and colourful, offering you a surreal adventure which is akin to games such as Journey. How much entertainment you get out of the game depends on what you’re looking for, trophy hunters may finish it quickly whereas casual gamers wanting a place to escape to will get much more out of it.
