The Endless Mission is an educational game prepared by E-Line Media, a company owning Upper One Games studio, known for its successful platform game Never Alone. The title was developed in cooperation with Endless Interactive, an organization whose aim is to popularize computers, among others through a simple operating system Endless OS.
Story
The game's scenario was written by Christian Cantamessa, who was responsible for the story in Red Dead Redemption. He was assisted in creating stories of The Endless Mission by several people, including Richard Elliott working on the Netflix series Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. The game focuses on the search for a mysterious Academy, which is the source of all technologies related to the development of video games.
Mechanics
The Endless Mission is a sandbox simulator to develop other video games. The players find themselves in an open world, where they make a variety of designs using the discovered cubes with ideas. This can be e.g. a racing cube, platform cube, RTS, or twin-stick shooter cube. By combining them together, we gain access to a ready work, in which we additionally set various parameters, such as the speed of movement of characters, the height to which they can jump, etc. In this way, we can create various titles. For example, by combining a platform dice with a racing dice, you can create a racing game in which a fox races against cars. The developers, however, offer us many more options.
