The Drowning is a visually impressive first person shooter, in which we find ourselves in a postapocalyptic world and we witness its final fall. The title, released on mobile devices with iOS, was made available in a free-to-play model with a well-balanced micropayment system. Its producer is DeNA studio, with Final Fantasy Record Keeper, mobile version of Godus and Blood Brothers series.
In The Drowning the player ends up in a postapocalyptic world whose inhabitants have been infected with a mysterious virus. As a result, they turned into bloodthirsty beasts, waiting for every living individual. The title puts the player in front of the task of surviving in hostile conditions and killing as many enemies as possible.
In terms of storytelling, The Drowning does not impress at all. However, he makes up for his deficiencies with his refined play mechanics. The action takes place on fifteen levels. The player can find many types of weapons on them - most of them are able to modify them additionally. Improved pouches are useful in the fight against powerful bosses.
The production enjoys a refined, three-dimensional graphic design. The map, rich in details, as well as the dynamics of the struggle may be particularly popular. The creators also managed to design an interesting and accurate control system, devoid of virtual analogue knobs typical for mobile shooters.
