A sequel to Dead Samurai developed by independent studio Ska. The title is a brutal beat ’em up in which the player assumes the role of a samurai-dishwasher and his stepsister who are fighting dark forces. This time they must face vampires accompanied by robots and zombies. The developers implemented two scenarios that can be completed alone or in cooperation mode.

The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile is a brutal 2D action platform game developed for PC and X360. One of the main protagonists in the game is the samurai-dishwasher known from the previous entry in the series titled Dead Samurai.

Plot

The main character is very unlucky and is frequently forced to fight the forces of darkness. This time the protagonist of The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile must face vampires accompanied by robots and zombies. The developers created two scenarios that can be played in two-player cooperation mode. One scenario focuses on the dishwasher while the other is about his stepsister who appeared in the previous game.

Mechanics

The gameplay mechanics are similar to the ones used in the first game in the series. The player must keep going forward and brutally eliminate hundreds of incoming enemies. From time to time he must also face stronger opponents, battles with whom are harder and more spectacular. The samurai can use unusual and deadly weapons like a rugged “Hammer of brutality” and a giant syringe. His sister has unusual equipment as well – instead of one of the arms, she has a chainsaw.

Game modes

Ska Studios included fifty challenges in the game, as part of an arcade mode that enables the player to quickly and easily participate in a blood bath. The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile for PC and X360 also features “Dish Challenge”, a mode known from previous game in which the players can endlessly eliminate hordes of enemies.

Technical aspects

The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile is a very brutal game filled with blood and torn parts of enemies. The title features atmospheric music and interesting graphics effects. The graphics style is similar to hand drawn comics and it uses dark and psychedelic tune.
