The Democratic Socialist Simulator is a strategy game in which we play the role of a socialist president of the United States. The game puts the player through a series of difficult decisions concerning problems in the USA and in the world. Molleindustria is responsible for the development and release of this game.

Mechanics

The Democratic Socialist Simulator is quite a typical strategy game. We take on the role of the first socialist president of the United States, who is trying to put his ideology into practice. We take up challenges such as redistribution of wealth, fighting the climate crisis. We also carry out a variety of reforms, including health care and taxation.

While playing, we stand before hundreds of decisions that are based on political ideas known from the real world. During the game, the player must also pay attention to the moods of the voters and the threat from the elite that resists change. It is also necessary to form alliances with other politicians. The game uses a random scenario generator, so each approach looks a little different. A single game takes about 20-30 minutes.

We can only play The Democratic Socialist Simulator alone. The core of the game is a free roam mode for a single player.

Technical aspects

The Democratic Socialist Simulator has a simple, two-dimensional graphic design, which consists mainly of the game interface (while working on it, developers drew inspiration from the popular Reigns series and... Tinder). The developers decided to use characteristic, bright colours. The colours make the graphics clear and the player can easily get the information he needs. It is worth noting that there is a hint of humour in the game and it should not be taken fully seriously - for example, the society here is composed not of people, but anthropomorphic animals.
