The Courier is an open world adventure game. It was developed by Crescent Moon Games, an indie studio known for such projects as The Deer God and Morphite.

Plot

The Courier takes us on a journey to the picturesque archipelago. We play as a courier who wanders the islands and delivers shipments to their inhabitants. On the way we learn more and more about the place and find out its various, sometimes dark secrets.

Game mechanics

In The Courier we observe the action from the top-down view. Game offers us a vast world. It is made up of a number of various islands, to which we unlock access as we progress. We can find here both valleys full of trees and canyons, snowy mountain regions (where we have to warm up by the fires from time to time) or gloomy, dead wastelands. We move around the game world not only on foot (the protagonist can climb the vines growing on the steep slopes), but also by bike, motorboat and even hang glider.

As the main character is the title courier, during the game our primary goal is to deliver packages to the inhabitants of the islands. But it doesn't end there, because from time to time we also have to solve puzzles and perform other tasks, which take the form of mini-games. Among them are fishing, walking the dog, shearing sheep or mowing the grass.
