Mechanics

The gameplay in The Constructors is shown from a top-down view. It is up to us to operate our construction company.

Each investment begins with choosing a construction site, which often means we must first demolish the old structures. Afterwards we must design the new property (or properties, if we wish to build things such as an entire gated community). Not only do we decide on the property's appearance or height, but also the shape of apartments and rooms, materials used, even such details as the type of lightbulbs installed inside. After completing the building, we must take care of its surroundings; a playground or a basketball court greatly enhance the project's appeal.

If the investment pays off, we'll earn more than enough to make a profit and invest again, gradually restoring Wondersville to its former glory and massively bloating our bank account. Nevertheless, we may encounter various complications along the way. Often we must accept compromises to avoid our construction being blocked by citizens protesting; it's also worthwhile to implement green solutions, such as solar panels on rooftops, to gain people's approval. The competition also does its best to thwart our plans, while our budget is easy to miscalculate if we're not careful.
