It would seem that the previous expedition against Nemesis will be a complete success. Just before the final confrontation, however, your enemy has taken some remedial measures. Taking advantage of the fact that you were busy fighting monsters, the enemy retreated to a village called Morbidity to create a new army of minions ready for everything. Having reached the village, you found out that Nemesis has no intention of giving up. Escapeing towards the Dark Forest, he put more enemies on your way and locked the surrounding gates.
The Catacomb Armageddon (commercially known as Curse of the Catacombs)is the second story after The Catacomb Abyss about the adventures of a brave magician who intends to kill Nemesis and his supporters alone. The authors have tempted themselves about sixteen new levels in which we will visit not only the village of Morbidity, but also the Dark Forest, the Lost City of the Cursed and the Viper Temple, which will also be the scene of the final duel with Nemesis.
As in the original, The Catacomb Armageddon has to face up to the prevailing enemy forces with a simple combat spell. Equally important is the search for hidden chambers (by destroying walls), keys and bonuses. The latter allow for the use of stronger spells, as well as the treatment of wounds. An equally important gadget is the map found from time to time - in the labyrinth of corridors it is easy to get lost, so a piece of paper with a drawn layout of rooms is by the weight of gold.
The authors were not tempted to interfere with the structure of the game, so the screen still shows graphics in sixteen colors and we still can't run. The engine was prepared by John Carmack and is an early version of the engine used later in Wolfenstein 3D.
