The Boss : La Cosa Nostra, originally called The Reign of the Sicilians, is a Korean studio game combining real-time strategy, simulation and cRPG elements. The player has the full opportunity to participate in many events in the life of the Italian mafia in the USA (prohibition, St. Valentine's Day massacre, etc.) creating a new history of organised crime in this country. The creators of La Cosa Nostra have set out to be faithful to historical events. The action of the game takes place in the years 1920 - 1930, which is the time of the greatest activity of the Italian mafia.
It all starts when a young Sicilian arrives in New York, but because of his origin he is forced to exist within the lowest social strata. After some time, he joins one of the local criminal organisations, but circumstances force him to move to New Orleans, where he quickly gains a strong position in the semi-world. The next stop in the gangster career of the said individual is the prohibition of Chicago, which creates excellent conditions for further advancement in the mafia hierarchy. Finally comes the moment of returning to "The Great Apple". (New York) and take over the function of the godfather of his parent "family," in order to crack down on the competition.
The main task of the user is to organize and enlarge their own "family group" and run illegal business under the guise of lawful interests. Since the campaign is based on authentic events related to the activities of the Sicilian mafia in the U.S., the so-called "combined scenario system" was applied, where the outcome of the mission's completion affects the events that will occur in the following ones.
- Combination of features of many strategic games in the field of management and simulation.
- 20 different missions.
- Maps corresponding to the plans of ten real cities at the time when the scenario is taking place.
- Sophisticated 3D graphics, light effects, etc.
- Multiplayer mode for multi-player competition.
