The Awakened is a three-dimensional real-time strategy that takes place on the planet Natrolis, a distant corner of the galaxy. It is inhabited by a race of Saurons, a lizard in the primitive phase of evolution, using swords and magic.
People come to the planet, equipped with modern military technology and decide to take over the planet Natrolis. It turns out, however, that the Saurons can oppose human invaders with mystical magic, which is as powerful a weapon as earthly rifles. In addition, the war between the two races brought to the surface terrible monsters hidden in the viscera of the planet.
There are 40 missions to be played for each side of the conflict. Each race is characterized by different sources of raw materials, different production costs, and fighting strategy. Less technologically advanced Sauroni extract wood and stone, while people need metals. In turn insect-like monsters coming from the depths of the planet, are based mainly on organic material, taken from the bodies of killed enemies.
Units can be set up in many formations, several of which are available from the beginning of the game. Advanced Artificial Intelligence ensures that the units are properly maintained and positioned during combat, such as releasing infantry front and rear troops with long-range weapons to protect more important units in the middle.
