The 90's Arcade Racer is a racing game maintained in the style that dominated in this genre in the 1990s. The production was developed by Pelikan13 together with Nicalis.

Mechanics

The project was created to recreate the style of gameplay present in racing games, which ruled in salons with arcade machines in the '90s of the last century. The developers modeled their game after the best arcade racing titles of that period - Scud Race, Daytona USA and Indy 500. The authors not only recreated the gameplay mechanisms of the time but also reconstructed a specific visual style using a modern graphics engine. The driving system isn't realistic, and the cars present in the game have no equivalents in the real world. Instead, we get a choice of three vehicles representing the main groups of racing cars - Supercar (an expensive sports model), Stock (a powerful car in the style of those used in, e.g. the Nascar competitions) and Formula. The first two allow you to make spectacular controlled slides. The last one, however, makes up for the lack of drifting possibilities with much better grip.

Game modes

The 90's Arcade Racer offers three maps. Each of them has the option to drive from the opposite direction, which gives a total of six tracks. They vary in difficulty levels, so there's something for everyone from beginners to veterans of racing games. Locations are colorful and are a mix of reality and fantasy. We can race against artificial intelligence or other players in local multiplayer mode. The game also has a time trial option. In addition, the game also has a score system, which rewards spectacular maneuvers on the tracks.
