Most tower defense games are limited to two-dimensional boards. Dan Walters and his Micro Macro Games colleagues have been tempted to introduce several innovations, including an additional dimension.
According to a common pattern, the player's task in Terrorhedron 3D is to protect their own base. The threat to her are small, colorful balls - title terrorhedrons, which should be destroyed with the help of defensive turrets. The task is complicated by the fact that attacking enemies are characterized by different properties determining, among others, their strength, the amount of damage inflicted, the speed of movement and resistance.
The key to success is to choose the right turrets (7 types) with the right weaponry (e.g. lasers or plasma cannon) and place them in the right places on the board along the "streets" where the terrorhedrons move. Defensive constructions can also be programmed to determine what kind of opponents to attack (nearest, farthest, fastest, slowest, etc.). An interesting option to play is the possibility of multi-person cooperation with a maximum of 8 players.
Terrorhedron 3D features a highly simplified visuals. The three-dimensional boards are decorated with abstract backgrounds. The accompanying soundtrack is the work of Swedish musician William Rickman, who also performs under the pseudonym Random.
