Tempest Rising

Tempest Rising is an RTS inspired by the greats of the genre, led by the Command & Conquer series. The game was developed by Slipgate Ironworks studio (whose portfolio includes the Rad Rodgers game), while its release was handled by THQ Nordic and 3D Realms.

Plot

Tempest Rising unfolds a grim vision of the future. After the nuclear conflict that turned the entire world as we know it upside down, the war for influence has not ended at all. The globe is now overgrown with the mysterious vines of the Tempest, with warring factions vying for control. Plunged into the conflict, the Global Defense Forces and the Tempest Dynasty do not yet know that the Earth is in great danger from the true origin of the Tempest.

Game mechanics

In Tempest Rising, we observe the action in an isometric view. The game gives us three factions, each of which has its own economy and unique set of units, and fights in a unique way. The game takes place on vast and diverse maps, and in the course of the game we acquire resources, erect and fortify our base and recruit units (from infantry to heavy combat vehicles), which we then send into battle. In addition, neutral forces can be found in individual locations, guarding valuable buildings waiting to be seized.

Game modes

The pillar of Tempest Rising gameplay are two story campaigns, consisting of fifteen missions. They allow us to take control of the troops of the Global Defense Force or the Tempest Dynasty. In addition, the title offers an extensive multiplayer mode, allowing both single skirmishes and ranked play.

Technical aspects

Tempest Rising features high-quality graphics. Both the detailed models of units and the varied, detailed designs of locations are impressive.
