Tekken X Street Fighter Description
There has been a fierce competition between the Tekken and Street Fighter franchises over the years for the title of the best virtual fighting game. Both series have their ardent followers. Tekken is a popular choice for realistic animation and great visuals. The supporters of games from the so-called old school prefer two-dimensional fights in Street Fighter. Seeing the potential of mutual competition, the devs of both series decided to try working together. One of the results of this cooperation is Tekken X Street Fighter.
The game distinguishes itself from the previous installments of the series primarily by the hero roster. This includes many characters well known from the previous installments such as Kazuya Mishima and Nina Williams. New ones are protagonists taken from the competing Street Fighter series - such as Ryu and Chun-li. Their transfer to Tekken was not an easy task. Both series are very different in terms of mechanics and visuals. The protagonists of the Street Fighter series had to be much more realistic and detailed. Their movements, fighting styles, and even special powers needed to be adopted to the duels in three-dimensional arenas. Also, the skills of characters known from the previous installment of the Tekken series had to be adapted to new opponents.
The producer of Tekken X Street Fighter is Katsuhiro Harada. The game was developed in parallel with Street Fighter X Tekken, although both Namco and Capcom developers worked on their projects separately.
