Developed by independent AlternativaPlatform, Tanki X is a free-to-play, online shooter. This is a spiritual heir to the popular multiplayer production Tanki Online.

Mechanics

Gameplay of Tanki X consists in putting the players in various tanks and pitting them against each other. The developers introduced a number of customisable machines. While constructing our own vehicle, we can choose from a few bodies, armours, turrets, and types of ammo placed on them. On board, we can mount a flamethrower, an automatic rifle, or even a special weapon which can freeze and slow down opponents. More upgrades unlock with the progress, so we can not only customise the weapons for each tank but also change their looks. There are also power-ups scattered around maps, which give temporary bonuses.

The key to success lies both in customising gear and working out effective tactics, depending on the situation in the battle. Combat takes place in a few different locations. Tanki X offers a huge metropolis, docks, and a military base. The fast pace of gameplay is intensified by instant respawns and impressive capabilities of tanks – falling from roofs straight on another player’s tank is a common practice in this production.

Game modes

Tanki X has three game modes. Classic Deathmatch, so all vs all, Team Deathmatch – teams vs teams, and Capture the Flag which comes down to stealing the enemy’s flag and transporting it to our base.
