A remastered version of the third-person jRPG from 2009. Tales of Graces f Remastered takes us to a fantasy world and when playing as Abel Lhant we are trying to stop the war between the main kingdoms. The remaster offers various graphical and gameplay improvements.
Tales of Graces f Remastered is a refreshed version of the jRPG released in 2009 for the Nintendo Wii console, and a year later also for PlayStation 3. The game belongs to a series that began in 1995, and it was developed and released by Bandai Namco Entertainment.
Plot
Tales of Graces f Remastered takes us to the fantasy world of Ephinea, which is divided among three countries – Windor, Strahta and Fendel. The main character of the game is Asbel Lhant. Years ago, the protagonist befriended a girl suffering from amnesia named Sophie, who sacrificed herself to save him from a monster.
When his hometown is attacked seven years lanted, an unchanged Sophie unexpectedly appears in Asbel's path. Wanting to solve the mystery of his companion and stop the invasion of his homeland, the protagonist becomes entangled in an intrigue of a large caliber, reaching the highest levels of power.
Gameplay
In Tales of Graces f Remastered we view the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). Adventure leads us through a series of diverse, interconnected locations. While exploring them, we get to know their inhabitants and carry out various quests. Apart from the main missions, there are various side tasks also waiting to be completed.
We are often faced with opponents, with whom we fight in separate arenas. Dynamic skirmishes are based on a system called Style Shift Linear Motion Battle System, and our team of up to four people can participate in them. The key to success during the fights is merging attacks into spectacular and deadly combinations.
As we progress, we develop our characters, gaining so-called Titles. We unlock new skills and improve their attributes. Titles are awarded to us in exchange for progress made in the plot, as well as for completing optional objectives presented to us during battles.
Although the core gameplay in remaster remains unchanged from the original, this version stands out from the original thanks to a number of improvements intended to make the game more enjoyable, led by automatic saving of the game's progress. Additionally, the remaster was expanded with many DLCs, which over time enriched the original version of the game.
Graphics
The graphic design of Tales of Graces f Remastered is maintained in manga style. The whole visual side has been refreshed - the game has been adapted to work at higher resolutions and at a higher frame rate than the original.
