Tainted Grail: Conquest

Tainted Grail: Conquest is a game that combines elements of an RPG, a roguelike and a card game. The game takes place in a dark universe known from the popular board game Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon and inspired by arthurian legends and Celtic myths. The game was developed and published by the Polish company Awaken Realms Digital.

Plot

The world of Tainted Grail: Conquest was created by Polish writer Krzysztof Piskorski. This is an alternative version of the universe known from arthurian legends, in which the Knights of the Round Table were killed and the world plunged into chaos caused by a dark force called Wyrdness.

Mechanics

In Tainted Grail: Conquest the game world is most often viewed from above, although the camera frequently changes its position, zooming in and out to show us events from different angles. The game developed by Awaken Realms Digital is an RPG with clearly defined roguelike and card game elements.

The map on which the game takes place looks a little different each time. The player controls a hero representing one of several different classes and explores the environment and fights enemies, acquiring new items and abilities (these are represented by cards that we gradually accumulate, building a stronger deck). The battles were made in a turn-based system - the key role is played here by combining the attacks and used objects into destructive combos.

In the game, you can also find the mechanics of building the base, which allows us to transfer progress between different attempts.

Interestingly, the difficulty level of Tainted Grail: Conquest increases gradually, as dark forces influence the land more and more.

Game modes

In Tainted Grail: Conquest we can only play alone. The core of the game is a single player story mode.

Technical aspects

Tainted Grail: Conquest has quite good, 3D graphic design. Graphics probably won't surprise anyone with anything unusual, but the developers have managed to present the unique atmosphere of the universe of the game well. The original, terrifying monster designs deserve special attention here.
