Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy is an RPG game inspired by the greats of the genre, including the first two installments of the Baldur's Gate and the Icewind Dale series. The game was developed by Atom Team - an independent studio that also has in its portfolio the warmly received (and similar in genre) Atom RPG game.
Plot
The action of Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy takes place in a fantasy universe, in a recently discovered land called Nova Drakonia. During the game, we play as an adventurer who, while traveling to unexplored territory, encounters a dying man. That person entrusts him with a certain artifact, thereby drawing him into a high-stakes intrigue and starting his adventure of a lifetime. During the story we will have to uncover the conspiracy threatening the entire world.
Mechanics
In Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy, we watch the action in a three-dimensional isometric projection. The world of the game consists of, among others, peaceful, picturesque villages, ancient ruins, and dungeons bathed in darkness. While traveling through the world, we talk to its inhabitants, finish quests (which can be completed in various ways), add companions to our team, and face opponents. Over time, we develop the hero and his entourage and acquire increasingly powerful equipment for them.
The game uses a classless system, so the direction in which the characters will develop depends on which of their skills we decide to improve. In addition, the game offers two combat systems - turn-based and real-time, with an active pause option. Regardless of which one we choose, we must demonstrate tactical sense on the battlefield and skillfully use the strengths of the hero and his companions.
