Supplice Description
Supplice is an old-school FPS inspired by shooters from the 1990s. It was developed by Mekworx, a studio founded by veterans of the first two Doom games' modding community.
Plot
The game is set in the distant future, during the times of space colonization. We play as an engineer, part of a corporate team specializing in terramorphing. Trying to terramorph a planet, the squad ends up awakening an ancient race of aggressive aliens who can take control over other species by installing lethal technology in their bodies. It is up to us to neutralize the threat.
Mechanics
Supplice is an old-school FPS. The player traverses huge, complex maps, fighting hordes of enemies with a wide range of weaponry.
The game is very fast paced. The main protagonist can move extremely quickly, while the player is rewarded for good reflexes. We have also a lot of creative options to choose from when it comes to our gear. We can convert a minigun into a stationary automating turret or release gas from a flamethrower before setting it ablaze, killing every enemy in the room.
Game modes
Supplice is only playable in singleplayer.
Technical aspects
The game is heavily influenced by retro shooters, such as Duke Nukem 3D and the first two Doom games. Supplice features 3D maps, but the enemies, weapons and many objects are shown as 2D sprites.
