Supernova Description
Supernova for PC is a science fiction MOBA game. The title was developed by Hungarian studio Primal Game and released by Bandai Namco Games.
Plot
In this title the whole universe serves as a battlefield. The players join the forces of humans or aliens. In the global fight the greatest commanders of the whole world join their forces to help their faction in winning. Among the fighters there are mercenaries, powerful mechs, cyborgs and various alien species, accustomed to fighting for survival.
Mechanics
As in typical MOBA games, the gameplay is focused on competition between two five-person teams that face each other on large arenas. The arenas are divided into three zones with automatically-attacking minions. The key to success is to use special abilities of each commander and to cooperate between the formations – infantry, mechanized units and flying units. The relations between these units are based on the rock-paper-scissors principle.
Supernova for PC focuses mostly on strategic aspect and development system inspired by classic RTS games. Each commander has unique technology tree and unit production system. As he gains experience and reaches new levels, he can spend development points not only on himself, but on his minions as well. Additionally, during the fights the players gain drops that enable them to craft various timed power ups that work independently from commander’s skills.
Technical aspects
The visuals of Primal Game Studio’s game are of high quality. The style of the graphics is similar to StarCraft. The game is distributed by using free-to-play model with microtransactions. The latter enable the player to buy various cosmetic additions and other useful bonuses. What’s important, using microtransactions doesn’t provide great advantage over other players.
