Super Pokemon Rumble is a sequel to Wii's 2009 release of Pokemona Rumble, as well as the first fully fledged game with pocket creatures to be played on a 3DS console. The title was created by Nintendo's Ambrella studio, which already has experience in the production of side titles from the series for the most important consoles of the Japanese company.
Unlike the main games in the Pokemon series, which are typical jRPG games in which we play as a person collecting and preparing creatures to fight with other coaches, in Super Pokemon Rumble we control only small toy pokemons, in a world inhabited by Mii avatars, representing each 3DS owner. At the beginning of the game, post-contest toys come to life and embark on a dangerous journey during which they will be able to fight or befriend each other to form teams. The task of the players will be to lead a group of toys controlled by them through successive levels and worlds.
Super Pokemon Rumble is a simple action game that will not cause problems even to inexperienced players. In the course of the game, we lead creatures through three-dimensional boards full of opponents, on the ends of which there will usually be a fight against a stronger boss, or a battle in a special arena. Creatures are controlled by an analog knob. When we encounter an enemy defeat simply press the action button, which is responsible for the attack as soon as possible. Players don't have to worry about multiple moves or complicated duel rules. However, the element to which the defeat and its attacks are assigned counts during the exchange of blows; fiery attacks will be ineffective against water blows, which in turn will quickly succumb to electrical creatures.
At some point in the game, our creatures will be able to learn an additional second attack, but it does not play as important a role as the basic one. Fighting, each manor gains experience and reaches higher and higher levels of experience. The defeated defeats leave behind coins (we can exchange them for bonus attacks), and sometimes also their toy form, which we can take away and thus join the team of the next defeat. It is worth mentioning that in the game we will find nearly 600 different types of these creatures.
Super Pokemon Rumble also allows us to have fun in multiplayer mode. To participate in the adventure we can invite another owner of the game and together with his team visit the locations prepared by the creators. Developers have also provided an option that, thanks to StreetPass, allows you to share your creature data with other users.
The three-dimensional frame is extremely simple and economical and does not take advantage of all the possibilities offered by the console, and simplified models of pokemons can disappoint fans of the main games in the series. Like other 3DS games, we can turn on the depth-enhancing three-dimensional mode.
