Super Lone Survivor is an improved version of the adventure psychological horror Lone Survivor created by one person - Jasper Byrn, who was inspired by the cult series Silent Hill. An extra "Ascending" scenario, the ability to play in 4K and a completely new engine are just some of the changes that the original game has received.

Plot

Remake once again allows us to play the role of a hero in a surgical mask, who decides to leave his closed apartment in order to find food, after a strange epidemic broke out in the city, which ravaged the population, turning them into terrifying monsters. Exhausted and hungry, chased by monsters, he experiences strange dreams and delusions, tries to understand the secret behind the pandemic, but also to find a way to escape the cursed city. Super Lone Survivor also got an extra content in the form of a scenario "Ascending". The game offers different endings depending on the decisions made by the player during the game.

Mechanics

Super Lone Survivor is a side-scroll horror adventure game with arcade elements, in which we can decide which style of gameplay suits us better - requiring us to sneak around our enemies in the dark or confront them, which will result in a battle forcing us to use weapons to survive. However, an aggressive approach may be problematic due to the small stock of firearms ammunition. The skirmishes may end up with the loss of the hero's life points, but this is not the only aspect we have to watch out for, because if we don't want our hero to go completely mad, we have to take care of his mental health by providing him pills and sleep.

During the game we walk through the rooms of the apartment building, where we meet other surviving people, as well as food and weapons necessary for survival. We will also find a number of scattered sheets of paper from the diary that bring us closer to understanding the truth about the situation the hero found himself in. It all depends on us - whether we leave the city alone or with other survivors; whether our mental health will be normal, whether we will give in to strange psychoactive substances, and whether we will kill everything that stands in our way or rather choose a more pacifistic approach.

Technical aspects

Super Lone Survivor has been rewritten on a brand new engine, thanks to which we will see new visual effects like shadows or parallax mapping in the game. The game also received support for 4K resolution, higher refresh rates and pad support for PC owners.
