Super Hexagon is a small indie game originally developed for iOS mobile devices. You control a small triangle attached to a hexagon in the middle of the screen. The player's task is to move around the hexagon's edge in such a way as to avoid being crushed by the shapes approaching at a dizzying pace from all directions, often forming formations specified for each stage.
Terry Cavanagh, the creator of this game who also developed VVVVVV, decided to set the bar high and at the very beginning of the game provided players with three levels of difficulty: difficult, harder and hardest. For those with steel nerves and monkey dexterity, even more challenging levels were prepared, which unlock after surviving a minute on each of these stages. Contrary to appearances, this is really quite a challenge, as at first the success is to survive for a few seconds against the pace of the influx of killer lines.
The visuals also emphasize the minimalistic nature of the game. We have to deal with changing background colors and pulsating polygons every several seconds. Electronic music composed by a musician called Chipzel encourages players to continue playing.
