Super Crate Box Description
Super Crate Box is a platform action game that refers to the golden age of arcade machines. The title was developed and published by the independent Dutch company Vlambeer.
Mechanics
In Super Crate Box, we observe the action from the side. The game is set on one-screen levels and is based on the elimination of hordes of enemies. During the game, we make use of a wide range of firearms, including rocket and disc launchers, guns, and flamethrowers. In order to be successful, we must remain in motion and jump on platforms, avoiding direct contact with adversaries. Among the latter we can find both common enemies appearing in great numbers, as well as powerful bosses. As we progress, we unlock not only new weapons, but also playable characters.
Game modes
Super Crate Box can be played solo; the version for Nintendo Switch has been enriched with a local multiplayer mode for two players.
Technical aspects
Super Crate Box features simple two-dimensional visuals made in pixel art technique. The retro style is complemented by a fast, chiptune soundtrack.
